Research of Harmonic Analysis in the Electric Arc Furnace

With the electric arc furnaces widely used in the metallurgical industry,a large number of harmonics and inter-harmonics will inject into the utility grid in the course of their work.It poses a serious harm to the power grid and the users of electricity.The current harmonic test equipment in use is based on different standards for harmonic analysis.This article introduces two kinds of harmonic analysis in the GB and IEC standards and analyzes the differences between the two methods of harmonic analysis on the impact load with the measured electric arc furnace operation data.Then from the point of view to meet engineering applications,the article points out that how to scientifically use the result of harmonic analysis in two standards.
