Fairness and Reciprocity in the Behavioral Economics——an Economic Theoretical Foundation for Building up Harmonious Society

Based on the assumption of rational economic-man,traditional economics argues that the economic behavioral subject pursues optimization of self-interests,which to some extent,adds to the contradictions and conflicts in social economic relationship,and hinders the building of a harmonious society.The reciprocity and fairness theory,established on behavioral economics,emphasizes the fairness,reciprocity,and cooperation among economic behavioral subjects who have bounded rationality.This is just what is required of building a harmonious society.In accordance with the theories of behavioral economics,this paper proposes that fairness,reciprocity,and cooperation are economic factors of a harmonious society.Further,it interprets the economic theory foundations of building a harmonious society.On such foundations institutional designs and arrangements can be made for building up harmonious society.
