A RAPID METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF Fe~(2+) AND Fe~(3+) CONTENT IN PLATING BATH

The rapid method for simultaneous determination of Fe~(2+) and Fe~(3+) ions content is introduced, which is based on the electrochemical oxidation and reduction properties of Fe~(2+) and Fe~(3+) ions on platinium electrode in acidic medium. Tests show that this method can be used to determine the content of Fe~(2+) and Fe~(2+) in plating bath. When Fe~(2+) ion concentration is in the range of 0.2-24g/L and Fe~(3+) 0.04-0.14g/L, the determination deviation will be below 3%.
