Dynamics Analysis for Gun With Consideration of Contact Between Arc and Gear

The effect of contact between cradle arc and main gear of elevating mechanism on muzzle disturbance was studied.The software used for automatically generating discrete points of gear profile was programmed,and the precise 3D models of involute straight tooth gear and arc were constructed by further development of ADAMS.Considering the contact between cradle arc and main gear of elevating mechanism,the multi-body system dynamics model for some gun was set up.The stiffness of gear meshing was approximately calculated according to Hertz's theory.The result of numerical simulation shows that the contact/impact affects the muzzle disturbance,and the result can offer theoretical foundation and reference for design of elevating mechanism and cradle arc.
