Effect of Small Attack on Cavity Form Around Underwater Super-high-speed Projectile

Based on mixed density function,a multi-phase cavitating flow CFD model was presented and realized under the frame of commercial software Fluent 6.0.Cavitating flow at zero angle of attack around underwater super-high-speed projectile was investigated by numerical simulation based on 2D solver.Numerical simulation results coincide well with the results of the SCVA software.According to the model,simulation of the cavitating flow at non-zero angle of attack were carried out with a 3D solver.The effect of small attack angle on cavity form around underwater super-high-speed projectile was analyzed.The results show that attack angle can change axial symmetry of cavity form obviously.The bigger the attack angle,the thicker the cavity of upwind side,and the thinner the cavity downwind side.
