Clinical Study on CT-guided Percutaneous Microwave Ablation for Malignant Bone Tumor

Objective To evaluate the feasibility and clinical efficiency of CT-guided percutaneous microwave ablation for malignant bone tumor.Methods 31 patients of malignant bone tumor received CT-guided percutaneous microwave ablation therapy.The microwave energy was set at 2450MHz and at 20~80 watt for 5~30min.Results After the treatment,all of the patients felt the pain remissive or disappeared and the functions of the limbs were improved.The level of calcium and ALP in blood decreased.All of the tumors were decreased in size in CT scans.The effective rate(CR+PR) in 31 patients was 100% and the 1-,2-,3-years survival rate was87.1%,45.2%,32.3% respectively.There were no severe complications to be observed.Conclusion CT-guided percutaneous microwave ablation therapy may be a safe,feasible and effective method for malignant bone tumor.
