Advances in PCR-SSCP Technique Applications

Single strand conformation polymorphism analysis of polymerase chain reaction products, PCR-SSCP, is an important aspect of gene mutation analysis and also a highly useful tool in identifying unknown gene mutation. The principles, methods and development history of the PCR-SSCP analytical technique were briefly described. The factors affecting analytical results, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the technique, were analyzed in this paper, including its future applications, such as a potential value in measuring the early damage from the exposure of radon.
