EVALUATIONS OF HEPATIC FUNCTION OF 101 PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC BRUCELLOSIS AND THE EFFECT OF VACCINE THERAPY ON ABNORMAL HEPATIC FUNCTION

One hundred and one patients with chronic brucellosis were examined for hepatic function. 48.5% of these cases showed functional abnormality of the liver. This abnormality was found to be associated with intensity of intradermal allergic reaction, that is, frequency of hepatic involvement increased with the increasing area of dermal erythema in the local site. Of the 19 patients who showed abnormal hepatic function, 7 (36.8%) returned to normal level after vaccine therapy.
