VIRTUAL INSTRUMENT TECHNOLOGY——THE DIRECTION OF MODERN ELECTRICALAND ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTS

Virtual instrument(VI) is the outcome accomplished with the development of electronics technology, measurement test sciences as well as computer technology. Through reviewing the history of the electrical and electronic instruments, this article presents a novel view about how to divide their development stages. The basic concept, advantages, characteristics and general structures of the VI, and VXI bus technology are introduced. Finally the opportunity and challenge of the domestic instrument industry to be confronted are discussed.
