ARTIFICIAL BOUNDARY SN ANALYSIS OF TRANSIENT ELASTIC WAVE PROPAGATION

Liao Zhenpeng, Yang Baipo, Yuan Yifan(Institute of Engineering Mechanics, Academia Sinie )
A new method, multi-transmitting process, is prooosed in order to treat the artificial boundary encountered in numerical modelling of infinite medium. The error of this method depends on transmitting time, N, and the accuracy of calculation is in the order of (Ax)N, where Ax is the incremental length of a discrete model. The preliminary numerical results are given to show the excellent efficiency of this procese for transmitting near field elastic wave. This method provides a new prospect to study wave propagation especially in 3-dimensional problems by means of discrete mathematics.
