APPLICATION OF BOUNDARY ELEMENT METHOD TO WAVE PROPAGATION BY USING SERIES SOLUTION

The boundary element method by using series solution is applied to the wave propagation problem, which is based on the use of the complete set of the solution to the associate homogeneous equations as the weighted functions. Thus, the singularity existing in the traditional singular boundary integral equation method is avoided. Moreover, the accuracy of the stress calculation is increased. In the paper, the method is applied, to the SH-wave scattering in site with local irregular topography.It is convenient to deal with the input motion.
