EARTHQUAKE INPUT AND FREE-FIELD MOTION RESPONSE OF ARCH DAMS

A deconvolution analysis of accelerograms recorded at ground suifacc,convolution method of determining free-field motions of the infinite canyon and multiple-support technique of arch dams using free-field seismic input are described in this paper. A program for the proposed procedure was coded. The double-curvature arch dam at Dongjiang was selected as an example to illustrate the effect of free-field seismic input on the response of arch dams using actual accelerograms. A scries of factois influencing on the free-field input response of arch dam are investigated and discussed. Some preliminary conclusions on free-field input with multiple excitation analysis of arch dams are drawn from the results.
