RELATION BETWEEN ENVELOP FUNCTION OF STRONG GROUND MOTIONS AND FREQUENCY NUMBER DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION OF PHASE DIFFERENCE SPECTRUM

According to the relation between group velocity and phase velocity, this paper discusses the relationship between phase difference spectrum and equivalent group velocity, and reveals the significance of phase difference spectrum. On the assumption that acceleration time history can be obtained by stationary random processes multiplied envelop function, this paper demonstrates that envelop function of strong ground motion is proportional to the square root of frequency number distribution function of phase difference spectrum.
