RANDOM SEISMIC RESPONSE SPECTRUM AND ITS APPLICATION BASED ON THE RANDOM SEISMIC GROUND MOTION

In this paper, the seismic ground motion under a certain seismic intensity is taken as a random process and simulated as a stationary filtered non -white noise model. Then,the parameters of model is determined by using the statistical duration of strong seismic records and the maximum seismic ground acceleration used in the current code. A practical formula of seismic dis- placement root variance for the SDOF system is obtained by a great amount of computation,statistical analysis and simplification. Furthermore,the random seismic response spectrum and equivalent random seismic static load are presented,and also the practical methods are presented for the analysis of random responses and reliability of aseismic structures. By using the method presented in the paper,the dynamic reliability analysis of a structure under random seismic ground motion can be changed into the static reliability analysis.
