POWER SPECTRAL MODELS OF EARTHQUAKE GROUND MOTIONS AND EVALUATION OF ITS PARAMETERS

In this paper,the power spectra of earthquake ground motions are modeled by using the improved Kanai - Tajimi spectra. On the basis of the power spectra of earthquake accelerograms,the parameters of the improved Kanai - Tajimi spectra for two ground conditions are evaluated by adopting the least squares procedure of a nonlinear function. The improved Kanai - Tajimi spectra obtained for two ground conditions are compatible with the power spectra of earthquake records, and they can be used for the stochastic seismic response analysis of the structures with low frequency as well as medium and high frequency.
