Research On Fundamental Mechanic Characteristics of Lead Rubber Bearings

The paper provides the fundamental mechanic characteristics of Chinese lead rubberbearings, which include vertical, horizontal and extreme properties of rubber bearings. Verticalproperties such as vertical stiffness and deformation are researched, and horizontal propertiessuch as horizontal effective stiffness and damping are researched too. It is considered that theextreme properties of lead rubber bearings are in three situations compression failure, tensilefailure and shear failure with vertical load.Compared with the standards published by ChinaTech nique Regulation of Seismic-Isolated Structures with Laminated Rubber Bearings andJapan Society of Seismic Isolation (JSSI),the fundamental mechanic characteristics ofChineselead rubber bearings have good qualities.
