Lumped - parameter models for impedance matrix of rigid rectangular foundations of the half-space

Widespread and profound works are studied on structure-soil interaction both intheoretical and experimental fields for its importance and complication. Although the idea usingdiscrete models to represent unbounded soil has been put forward for a long time, littleapplication finds in practice for frequency-dependence of the introduced parameters. Thelumped-parameter models of the rigid rectangular foundation are obtained in this paper.Comparison between the lumped-parameter model solution and the accurate solution showsgood results achieved. And also the application of lumped-parameter models in soil-structureinteraction is discussed.
