Research on practical method for predicting earthquake damage to underground pipelines

On the basis of earthquake damage survey analyses and experimental research results, by considering the earthquake damage prediction of underground pipelines with the factors of environment and the parameters of pipeline construction, a fuzzy synthetical estimation way is shaped, which is two-level with multi-element. The paper shows calculation and estimation ways of normal fuzzy number ak of the following parameters which consist of two-level estimation factors: earthquake intensity, site type, working state and structure type. Also the paper shows two -level fuzzy estimation weight vectors according to gray relation analyses of earthquake damage to underground pipelines. A series of practical methods are provided, which will be useful to predict earthquake damage for widely existing underground pipelines
