Influence of block on anti-seismic behavior of cable-stayed bridge

YU Jian xing, WANG Xin qi(Tianjin University, Tianjin 300072,China)  
Baseed on dilapidation of Yonghe cable-stayed bridge, this paper analyses the influence of block on anti-seismic behavior of cablestayed bridge by using a nonlinear block-element. The results obtained indicate that block at the root of tower has little effect on shock-reduction of cable-stayed bridge, but the block has the advantage of decreasing the residual deformation at the top of tower .Thus, rehabilitation of block is necessary for Yonghe cable-stayed bridge.
