Determination of representative value of target displacement in displacement reliability-based seismic design method

Based on the principle that the base shear forces, obtained from the force based seismic design method and the direct displacement based seismic design method, respectively, are equal, a revising coefficient for base shear force in the direct displacement based seismic design is presented. Then, a determining method for the representative value of target interstorey drift is given. Finally, the procedure of the direct displacement reliability based seismic design method is summarized.
