Nonlinear models of dynamical foundations

The foundation-basement is simplified to a fixed parameter lumped parameter system. A nonlinear dynamic model possessing viscous damping is set up with the third power polynomial function, which reflects the nonlinear relation of displacement-force interacting between soil and foundation. And a new hyperbolic hysteresis loop model of dynamic foundation is presented ulteriorly adopting Masing duplation and extending the exponential backbone curve into hyperbolic hysteresis loop which simulates nonlinear and hysteresis character of the system. The concepts of nonlinear generalized stiff functions is developed in this paper and the nonlinear constitutive relations of dynamic foundations with different pattern of vibration is ulteriorly constructed based on these models.
