Seismic damage analysis of buried pipeline engineering

The seismic damage and loss of service of buried pipelines may have great influence on the society,the seismic research on buried pipelines has always been highly valued.In this paper,the seismic damage characteristics of buried pipelines in several recent earthquakes of mainland of China are analyzed,such as Lijiang Earthquake in 1996,Kekexili Earthquake in 2001,Dayao Earthquake in 2003,and Dongwu Earthquake in 2004,etc.The results of earthquake damage prediction of buried pipelines in several typical cities are also investigated.The seismic capacity of buried pipelines in some towns and cities is not enough and the effective measures should be taken in order to improve this situation.
