Investigation and estimation of economic loss of banks and businesses in Guangyuan during M8.0 Wenchuan Earthquake

The seismic damage and economic loss of banks,stores and emporiums in Guangyuan during M8.0 Wenchuan Earthquake were investigated.The damage grades of surveyed buildings were evaluated.The features of economic loss of these three industries were analyzed.Based on the survey results,the loss ratio of each component was proposed.Utilizing the proposed loss ratio,the economic loss of each component was estimated.The results show that the estimation loss agrees well with the survey results.Additionally,the features of economic loss are dependent on not only the type of industry but also the type of commodity.
