OuJinping Wu Bin (Research Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Harbin University of Architecture and Engineering,Harbin 150008,China)  
In this paper,on the basis of common steel plate energy dissipators(commonSPEDs) and Pall friction energy dissipators,a composite steel plate energy dissipator(compositeSPED)is presented.Then,the mechanical analysis and computation model of the composite SPED is set up.Furthermore,the vibration-suppressed effect is verified and the economic benefit is compared with that of common SPEDs by time-history analysis. The results obtained in the paper show that the composite SPED is an effective energy dissipation device with simple composition,good durability, remarkable vibration-suppressed effect and economic benefit, and its application prospect appears to be highly promising.
