ASEISMIC DESIGN METHODS OF PASSIVE ENERGYDISSIPATION SYSTEMS

ln this paper, bascd on perfonnance experiznents of energy dissipation devices and numeric research on passive energy dissipation systnaes at honae and abroad, combined with Chinese aseismdc design code being revised, an uniform aseisadc desgin method of structures with energy dissipation devices is presented. First of all, cornputational meth- ods of equivalent damping and stiffness of velocity-dependent and hysteretic energy dissipators are establised. Seodndly, accuracy and feasibility of forcing decoupling method of non-classical daraping natrix of energy dissipation systems are analyzed. A modal deooupling response spectra method in which energy dissipatom can be oonsidered to provide additional modal damping ratio of structures is presented. Thirdly, design process of energy dissipation structures is transformed to that of common structures, based on establishment of analyzing methods-of elastic and elastoplastic seismic response of energy dissipation systems. Finally, some aseismic design examples of energy dissipation systems are presented.
