GPON: a New Solution of FTTH

Tao Zhiyong(Wuhan Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, MII, Wuhan 430074)  
Gigabit-capable passive optical networks (GPON) is an important technology of broad-band and multi-service FTTH access in the future . The article discusses key technologies of (GPON): physical media dependent layer specification, data link layer specification.
