Current Situation of Ultra Long-haul Optical Transmission Technology Development

Zhou Tian (Beijing P&T Consulting & Design Institute Co., Ltd., Beijing 100035)  
This thesis analyzes the functions and features, as well as problems need to be solved of ultra long-haul optical transmission technology, and discusses the new movement caused by multiple technological renovations. It is suggested that ultra long-haul optical transmission technology just apply to some areas at the present stage. The author gives an overview that ultra long-haul optical transmission technology will play an important role in national backbone transmission network in the future.
