H_∞ Robust Performance Design of Position Controller for Linear Permanent Magnet Synchronous Servo Motor

A high accuracy H ∞ robust position controller is presented for linear permanent magnet synchronous servo motor (LPMSM). The H ∞ control theory is used to design a feedback controller in order to guarantee robust stability and robust performance of the closed loop system under the condition of model perturbance and external disturbance. Based on nominal model of the plant, an IP controller is designed so as to meet the position system's performance requirement. The controller designed not only guarantee system's robustness but also system's following performance. The results of simulation show that the controller presented is reasonable and effective.
