Analysis and Calculation of Magnetic Levitation Forces for Bearingless Motors with Different Rotor Structure

Based on virtual displacement principle of magnetic energy,a universal expression of magnetic levitation forces for bearingless motors with different rotor structures (cage rotor,permanent magnet rotor and reluctance rotor) is presented in this paper.The magnetic field analysis by means of ANSYS has shown that the proposed method has a good engineering accuracy.The proposed calculation method of magnetic levitation forces can be used or analysis and design of bearingless motors with different rotor structures.
