Research on Integration Path Selection of Maxwell Stress Tensor Method Used in Electromagnetic Force FEM Analysis

Maxwell stress tensor method and virtual work method have been used widely in electromagnetic force FEM analysis.Virtual work method is regarded as more accurate but with complicated expressions,while Maxwell stress tensor method is simple and easy to be applied,but the accuracy of its results depends on the selection of integrating path.Therefore,choosing a proper integrating path is very important for this method.This paper has proved theoretically and numerically that using these two methods can get identical results when the line connecting the mid points of the triangle elements surrounding the moving object is taken as the integrating path of Maxwell stress tensor method in 2D case,which provides a foundation for obtaining accurate calculating results by Maxwell stress tensor method.
