Digital Simulation and Experiment of 12/3 Phase Induction Generators

It has prominent advantages that 12/3 phase generators are used in high speed situation. For its complicated mathematical model, the analytic solution is difficult to be given, so it is necessary to built the model of 12/3 phase induction generator to calculate the dynamic process by using numerical computation in electrical magnetical transient program. A 12/3 induction generator model is built by implicit trapezoid method in EMTDC, and the model can be interfaced with these components built in the EMTDC library. Simulations of the 12/3 phase induction generator are shown, and the experiment of a small 12/3 phase induction, the capability of which is 20kW, are given. The results of the simulation and experiment are identical, and show the correctness of the model of 12/3 phase induction generator built in the EMTDC.
