A Novel On-Line Measurement for System Impedance

For the important characteristic of the source system impedance applied in the power system, a novel method of on-line measurement for the source system impedance is proposed, which utilized the dynamic process of spontaneous short-circuit of the rectifier current transition. Based on the zero-crossing characteristic of the line voltage and current differential, a zero-crossing estimation is developed to calculate the system impedance. This method can apply to single-phase, three-phase symmetry and asymmetry power system. The measurement error is also evaluated and compared, and some technique is corrected to improve the measurement accuracy. Simulation and experimental results verify the analysis.
