Numerical Simulation on the Grid of Plasma Switch With Cold Cathode

In order to design a switch device that is provided with the advantages of the thyratron and the hard tube,with Xoopic software,FDTD and YEE mesh method are used for numerical simulation on the active process of the switch device. It is laid particular emphasis on the analysis that the emergence of preionization and stability of preionization region which are influenced by electric potential difference between source grid and control grid,relation of relative position on two grids and hole diameter of grids,and distribution of electrical magnetic field,etc.. A result is obtained that the switching device can maintain a stable pre-ionization state when the corresponding voltage of electric field is between 200V and 300V,also when magnetic induction density of magnetic field is between 0.45T and 0.55T. It is known that if the grid aperture is 1.2mm and the radio of the two grid diameters is less than 0.9,the control grid can play an effective role in the control for working process of the switching device.
