A Study on the Comparison of Two Methods used to Detect the Harmonic Currents of Three-Phase Circuits

Active power filter is a kind of device used for instantaneous compensation of harmonics of three-phase circuits. Harmonic current detecting circuit is an important pert of active power filter that determines its compensating characters.In this peper,two harmonic current detecting methods based on the theory of instantaneous reactive power of three-phase circuits are compered. The results of theoritical analysis and simulation make it clear that, when source voltages are distorted, ip、iq calculating mode can presisely detect harmonic currentS, but p'q calculating mode has apparent error.
