The Research of Position Technology of Outdoor Mobile Robot

The positioning system of the autonomous land vehicle is very important. The character and defect of the traditional positioning methods in the ALV are analyzed, then an Encoder - Compass Positioning System (ECPS) is presented, which can improve the performance of the positioning system. The prin- ciple, component characters and the result of the ECPS are reported in detail .
