Reactive Power Optimization of Power System Using Improved Adaptive Genetic Algorithm

In order to avoid the premature convergence and im- prove convergence rate,the second mutation is introduced into the adaptive genetic algorithm.After the selection,crossover and mutation,there are many same individual.Picking up and second muting these same individual produce adjacent individu- al.This method not only avoids the repeat calculation but also enhances local search ability.As a result,it improves the con- vergence performance of adaptive genetic algorithm.The method has been applied to IEEE 30 bus system.The test shows that this method is feasible and practical.
