Power System Frequency HighAccuracy Measurement Based on Interpolated FFT Algorithm

A high-accuracy method based on interpolated FFT algorithm is presented to measure the power system frequency. The simulation is implemented under the condition of fundamental signals, signals with harmonic, changing the harmonic content and phase. Then the simulation results are compared with the measuring results of Fourier algorithm. The results show that the interpolated FFT algorithm has very high accuracy in all these situations. Non-synchronous sampling has very small influence upon this algorithm. This method has the characteristics of high speed and accuracy, easy implementation of hardware. It can meet the requirement of real-time measurement in power system.
