High-PPS laser jamming technology based on ballistic simulation

In order to determine the repeat frequency needed for a high-PPS laser jammer for jamming laser-guided weapons,we built up a mathematic model for laser seeker signal processing,and developed a ballistic simulation system for laser-guided weapons under high repeat-frequency jamming.Taking the proportional-navigated laser-guided bombs as the objective for study,we carried out simulations on operational effectiveness for laser-guided weapons under high-PPS jamming.The result showed that:1) To obtain optimum jamming effect,the repeat frequency of the laser jammer should not be a multiple of that of the guidance signal;and 2) The optimum jamming frequency of a highPPS laser jammer is different for different gate width,thus one laser jammer is not enough for practical combat.Therefore,we studied the operational effectiveness of two laser jammers for jamming the laser-guided weapons,and the result was: when the repeat frequency reaches a certain value,the successful jamming probability can satisfy the tactical requirement.
