Application of the Minimum Recognizable Contrast in Airborne CCD Television System

The application of Minimum Recognizable Contrast(MRC) in airborne CCD TV system was studied based on the MRC theory.The basic factors and mathematical models that have effect on MRC are discussed.The methodology for measuring the effective distance via MRC was provided.The method for determining the critical data and the results were described in order to avoid the restrictions of using MTF and contrast for evaluation of CCD imaging system.The on-land estimation of operational distances of products was realized,and an evaluation methodology of airborne CCD TV system application was established.
