On the Absorption Properties of Heavy Metal Ion Cr (Ⅵ) by Soybean Hulls

This study reported the feasibility of adsorption of heavy metals from simulated heavy metal wastewater with 10 mg/L of Cr(Ⅵ) by using the soybean hulls.The effects of pH,contact time,amount of soybean hulls,initial concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) on adsorption activity were studied.Results showed that removal rate of Cr(Ⅵ) was 91.991%at 30℃,pH = 2~3,with soybean hulls of 2 g/L for 20 minutes.Desorption rate of Cr(Ⅵ)was 95.01%, which made soybean hulls could be used repeatedly.Soybean hulls were safe and environmentally-friendly natural products,and could be used as heavy metals adsorbents of waste water or drinking water.
