STRUCTURAL CONTROLS AND EXPLORATION TARGETS OF THE BAIYINNUOER ZINC-LEAD DEPOSIT,CHIFENG, INNER MONGOLIA

The Baiyinnuoer zinc-lead deposit in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, located at the middle segment of the Da Hinggan Mountains, occurs within the Permian Huanggangliang Group. The orebodies mainly occur as layered and lenticular shape. Studies on the ore-controlling factors show that distribution of the orebodies is controlled mainly by fold structures. Three exploration ore targets are proposed in accordance with the spatial distribution of the fold structure. The results suggest that the Baiyinnuoer zinc-lead deposit has a potential for further exploration, as validated by geophysical prospecting in the partial area.
