APPLICATION OF VLF-EM FOR REVEALING ORE-CONTROLLING STRUCTURES IN HAERCHULUTU AG-POLYMETALLIC DEPOSIT,INNER MONGOLIA

The Haerchulutu Ag-polymetallic deposit is located at Keshiketeng banner, Inner Mongolia. Based on the study of ore-controlling geological conditions and by means of VLF-EM, the ore-controlling structural characteristics are depicted, and forecasting for buried orebodies in the covered areas is carried out. The VLF-EM survy results and geologic interpretation show: 1. The structural belts in the mining area mainly tend to NNW, NWW or NE, 2. The NNW-and NWW-trending faults are of ore-bearing structures, which consist of lozenge-shaped or net ore-forming structural pattern, 3. Potential ore-finding areas are the intersecting positions of NNW and NWW fractures.
