A Study of Integrated Metallogenic Model for the Xiangshan Uranium Field

The Xiangshan field is a hydrothermal vein type uranium ore field. The deposits occur in the Xiangshan volcanic-intrusive complex and periphery areas. The deposits are asymmetrical distributed,mostly concentrated in the northern and western parts of the field,only one in the eastern part,and small ore occurrences in the central section and southern part. After the formation of the ore field,the deposits underwent a variety of epigenetic deformations,including the changes of spatial location. The earlier researches of ore mineralogy mainly focused on the formation of the deposits and the metallogenic model,but the late stage changes and integrated metallogenic model are rarely involved. In order to increase the predictive capability of deposits,we should study not only the ore formation processes,but also the main post-ore changes,modifications,preserving conditions and the integrated metallogenic model. Based on the geological characteristics of uranium mineralization and analysis of ore-forming conditions,this article researched the ore-forming mechanism and the post-ore uplifting and exhumation,and a integrated metallogenic model has been established. The integrated metallogenic model includes the metallogenic model and the post-ore change factors. This study shows that the uranium deposits at the southeastern part of ore field have subjected to strong erosions,and the northwestern part of ore field is a plausible prospecting target area.
