A Viscosity On-line Measurement Device for Filament Sizing

The investigation result indicated that the scale of filament size mixture viscosity was 1-80mPa·s, and that it was a low viscosity ranges. Based on capillary method of viscosity measurement, a device for viscosity on-line measurement of size mixture was introduced, the structure of detecting cup was designed, and the measurement process was controlled by PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). Experiments showed that the reproducibility of measurement result was better, and its CV was 2% approximately. The drawbacks of funnel viscometer in sizing process, that operation was inconvenient and measurement accuracy was inferior, have been conquered in this device. The funnel viscometer could be replaced preferably by this device.
