The activity and calamity analysis of tropical cyclone on the East China Sea

Based on the historical data of tropical cyclone during 1949-1989, the tropical cyclone affecting the East China Sea are analysed by statistical methods.The results show that activities of tropical cyclone on the East China Sea were very frequency, specially in July, August and September, and there were obvious annual and seasonal fluctuations in the number of the tropical cyclone occured on the East China Sea every year. The tracks of the tropical cyclone enterring the East China Sea were roughly divided into seven types. The tropical cyclone with the different fracks endangered in varying degrees the coastal area of the East China Sea, and the calamity situations were also described with the specific examples.
