Numerical simulation of the profiles of temperature and fluid in GTAW-arc

In this article,a steady two-dimensional(2D)axisymmetric model has been developed in order to investigate heat and fluid flows in a free burning GTAW arc and the velocity and temperature profiles of the arc has been simulated.The control equations was solved using a general thermofluid-mechanics computer program,PHOENICS code,which is based on the SAMPLE algorithm.Calculations have been made for arc in current 200 A and length 10 mm.The simulated results of this work accords with the experimental measurements and calculated results reported in other article.
