Research on finite element modeling for T-joint of double side synchronous welding for bridge steel structure

This paper took the simplified model of the bridge structure as the research object,and the bridge structure composed by main body and pavement. Based on ANSYS finite element analysis software and by using the APDL language,the double side synchronous welding model of T-joint which Consists of wing plate,roof and wall plate was established. By simulation and calculation many welding seams' welding process,Temperature distribution on model in different time are obtained,and the residual stress and residual deformation after cooling are forecasted. The simulation results show that the established model can be used to simulate the welding process well,and concentration of welding stress can be reduced by synchronous welding process. The weld which welding at last will produce a larger residual stress,and the residual deformation appears on the edge of the roof plate and wing plate.
