CHARACTERISTICS OF EARTH RESISTIVITY ANOMALIES AT TENGCHONG AND OTHER STATIONS BEFORE THE LANCANG-GENGMA M 7.6 EARTHQUAKE

Wang Zhiliang Yu Surong(Center for Analysis and Prediction, SSB)
The Abnormal phenomena of earth resistivity observed within the range of 200-700 km around the epicenter before the Lancang-gengma M 7.6 earthquake have been studied in this paper, Because of the tectonic setting and material property conditions governing the appearance of such phenomena, only some of the geoelectric stations in this region have recorded relatively clear anomalies showing a drop tendency of earth resistivity before the earthquake. This, again, demonstrates the significance of the earth resistivity observation as an existing method for monitoring earthquake precursors.
