Private Supply of Public Goods and Commercialization of Meteorological Service

Meteorological service is a typical public good provided by government free of charge. The inherent defects of its monopolized operation result in high cost and low efficiency. As the human society develops, many developed market countries and regions have had good results by practicing commercialization of meteorological service. Starting from the theory of public goods supply, and on the basis of introducing the operational mechanism of commercialization in foreign countries the paper analyzes the feasibility, necessity and puts forward the suggested policies of doing the same in our country.
