Calculation on leakage reactance of large power transformer by means of dual image current method

The leakage magnetic field distribution in the core aperture of transformer was researched with image current method and the relationships between vector magnetic potential as well as the leakage reactance of transformer and parity of the highest order of image current were obtained.According to the results,the dual image current method for calculating leakage reactance of power transformer was presented and demonstrated in detail.When the leakage reactance of transformer was calculated both by using the actual currents and all the image currents in which highest order was m,furthermore,the leakage reactance was calculated again both by using all those in which highest order bordered on m and the actual currents.The average value of these two leakage reactance was taken as actual value.The calculating method of transformer leakage reactance which employed dual image current method has lots of advantages.Firstly,the calculating program is simple.Second,the calculating time is short and thirdly,the relative error is fewer.The leakage reactance of real power transformer was calculated,and the results show that the relative error is 1.29 per cent and only 83 seconds are consumed on the personal computer.
